A TERMITE INSPECTION IS THE MOST IMPORTANT STEP
A proper termite inspection can be extensive and time consuming yet it is the most important step in preventing costly termite infestations. All of our certified technicians have extensive training and years of experience identifying termite activity. It is our policy to view your home from top to bottom looking for vulnerabilities that termites can take advantage of.
OUR TERMITE INSPECTION BEGINS
Our termite inspection begins by examining the exterior of the home and property. As no two homes are the same, our certified technicians are trained to note important variables that can affect the treatment. This includes noting the structural layout of the home, identifying construction variables, and observing the nearby landscape. Features such as concrete porches, wood-to-ground elements, grading, well location, utilities, water sources, and vegetation are all taken into consideration.
Termite Inspections Note Construction Variables
Following the exterior inspection, our technicians will examine the crawlspace and or basement of the home if present. This entails inspecting for inaccessible areas and noting construction variables. Then probing wooden members and noting any current or past wood-destroying insect activity. We also search for any standing water or moisture issues as they are conducive conditions that may contribute to a future termite and any other wood destroying infestation.
Where Termite Infestations Are Often Found
For the interior the technician will visually inspect all accessible areas for possible termite entry points. The first floor base moldings, doors, and windows are common areas to find hidden termite activity. Our technicians may tap on moldings or other wooden members to detect hollow sounds from the excavation of wood by a termite infestation. Particular attention is also paid to areas where concrete steps, slabs, and or porches join with the home or structure. Additionally, we will also look for signs of past or present leaks on the interior. Termite infestations are often found in areas of moisture intrusion so it is just as important to identify these areas and have them repaired.
Termite Inspection for Your Biggest Asset
Garages are also especially vulnerable due to the slab construction and commonly found stored items. Upon inspection we regularly find termite infestations that have been obscured or hidden by stored items. Your home is often your biggest asset and should only be inspected for termites by a professional certified technician with the proper tools.
A Thorough Home Inspection is the Most Important Element in Eliminating a Termite Infestation.
