Mosquito & Tick Abatement in Delaware and Maryland

There is nothing worse than stepping outside to enjoy a beautiful Delaware or Maryland evening, only to be chased back indoors by a swarm of mosquitoes or the fear of hidden ticks. Beyond causing itchy, irritating bites, mosquitoes and ticks are known carriers of serious vector-borne diseases.

At Activ Pest Solutions, our specialized Mosquito and Tick Abatement services are designed to drastically reduce these populations around your property, allowing you to enjoy your outdoor living spaces with peace of mind.

Why You Need Professional Mosquito and Tick Abatement

Mosquitoes and ticks don't just happen to wander into your yard; they actively breed and thrive in specific microclimates around your property.

  • Mosquitoes only need a thimbleful of standing water to lay hundreds of eggs. They rest during the heat of the day in the cool, shaded undersides of your landscaping and foliage.
  • Ticks rely on tall grasses, brush, and the transitional "woods line" at the edge of your property to latch onto passing hosts (like your family members or pets).

Store-bought sprays and citronella candles only provide temporary, localized relief. Professional abatement targets the source. We focus on breaking the breeding cycle and applying targeted treatments to the exact areas where these nuisance pests live and hide.

Mosquito Abatement Services

In recent years, viral diseases spread by mosquitoes—such as Zika—have become a major concern across the country. With this increased awareness, the demand for effective, professional mosquito abatement has risen rapidly.

Activ Pest Solutions’ dedicated mosquito division, No Mo-Squitoes, has been professionally servicing homes in Delaware and Maryland for several years with incredible success, helping families reclaim their yards.

The Activ Pest Solutions Difference

When you choose us for your property, you are getting the highest standard of service:

  • Certified, Full-Time Applicators: We do not hire part-time or seasonal laborers. Our mosquito abatement technicians are full-time, highly trained, and fully certified professionals.
  • Targeted, Eco-Conscious Treatments: A thorough inspection and placing the correct abatement products in the exact right locations are the keys to mitigating pest problems without adversely affecting the environment.

Get Protection with Our Mosquito Abatement Treatments

Our seasonal mosquito abatement programs are designed to help you enjoy the outdoors all season long.

Due to the large number of marshes and wetlands in the Lewes, Delaware area, mosquitoes and other flying insects can make outdoor life unbearable. All too often, beautiful patios, decks, and backyards are rendered completely unusable by swarms of biting pests.

Don’t let this happen to you! If you live in southern Delaware and want the area's best mosquito abatement company protecting your home, we can help.

Our Tick Abatement Services

Does your dog or cat keep getting bitten by ticks? Are you concerned about Lyme Disease? Are you simply not getting results from a "mosquito-only" spray company?

Ticks pose enormous health risks, and tick-borne diseases have been steadily on the rise. A successful tick abatement program requires a highly technical, multi-faceted approach. At Activ Pest Solutions, we don't just spray; we focus on thorough inspection, species identification, eliminating conducive conditions, and implementing precise abatement measures to protect your family and pets.

Our Tick Abatement Services Include:

  • A Comprehensive, Multi-Faceted Approach: We design a complete tick abatement program tailored to your property’s unique environmental factors.
  • Deep-Penetrating Acaricide Treatments: We provide the area's only true acaricide treatment designed to penetrate deep into the dense harborage areas where ticks live and breed.
  • Targeted Application (Not "Fog and Go"): We are NOT just a “backpack fog and go” company. We strategically treat the exact zones ticks use to reach your family.
  • Certified, Full-Time Technicians: All tick applications are completed by full-time, year-round certified technicians—never seasonal summer help.
  • TickEncounter Prevention Partners: We are proud to be certified partners in tick prevention and education!

Understanding the Enemy: The Tick Life Cycle

Most pest mitigation applications in Delaware and Maryland target the hard tick types in the Ixodidae family, specifically the Deer Tick, Dog Tick, and Lone Star Tick. Understanding how they develop and hunt is critical to effective abatement.

1. The Egg Stage

Many adult female ticks need to feed only once to lay up to 10,000 eggs, depending on the species and environmental conditions. After mating, the female drops from her host to the ground, depositing a massive batch of eggs. Under the right conditions, these larvae can hatch in as little as two weeks.

2. Baby Ticks (Larvae & Nymphs)

The first immature stage is often called the "seed tick." They are incredibly hard to see and have only six legs. To survive, they must find a blood meal on smaller animals like mice or birds.

  • After this first meal, the seed tick molts into an eight-legged nymph.
  • Nymphs can survive for months unfed.
  • When ready, nymphs seek out larger hosts, such as dogs and deer. Many local tick species require three different hosts to become reproductive adults.

3. Adult Ticks & "Questing" Behavior

How a tick seeks and attaches to a host is highly advanced. Some species can detect host body heat, ammonia, and carbon dioxide through specialized organs on their front legs, traveling over 60 feet toward a prospective host.

Their most common hunting method is called "Questing." A tick will find a favorable vegetation site, climb to the top of an object (such as a branch, tall grass, fence, or the side of a building), and stretch out its front legs, waiting to latch onto anyone who brushes past.

Protect Your Family from Tick Bites

Ticks are among the most significant blood-sucking arthropods worldwide. With the serious health risks they carry, it’s obvious that when choosing a professional pest company, you need to select the very best.

Activ Pest Solutions has set the bar in professional tick abatement. In our industry, tick mitigation is one of the most technical challenges to execute correctly. We are not a seasonal "spray and pray" company. Our zero-tolerance tick reduction programs rely on strict inspection, precise species identification, and critical situational awareness to keep your property safe.
